Peas & Lettuces!

I planted the peas last week right before the rain. . Last year, I planted them so late that I wasn't able to enjoy a decent harvest. This year, I paid attention to the planting schedule and planted right on time. I am hoping for some yummy peas this Spring. I will be planting radishes in the next few days. I already have lettuce in the garden and they are doing well. I may plant bok-choi too. Not 100% sure of it yet as last year, the snails tore them apart soon after I transplanted them. Maybe I will use some natural repellent this year to avoid it. Any pointers? Other then the peas and lettuces, the garden is just resting. My worms are eating slowly but surely and they are producing some great natural manure for my garden. That stuff is gold for a gardener & I am so glad I got those worm bin started! So, how if your garden doing?

Spicy Vegetarian Chili Recipe

I added a new recipe to my weight loss journey blog. It is my Spicy Vegetarian Chili. This recipe definetely has a kick to it so lower the heat to your likings. With only 300 calories, you can easily add chips and dip to the side and still have a fulfilling and healthy dinner. I made this recipe last Friday and let me tell you, it was sooo good. It is smokey from the chipotle peppers and very hearty because I used several beans. Please give this recipe a shot and let me know what you think!

Happy Eating everyone!

Welcome 2012

Happy New Year everyone! As 2011 comes to an end, a new, fresh start is here for all of us. 2011 was filled with heart-breaking natural disasters yet, it was a year filled with learning opportunities. As we ring in 2012, many of us are also ringing in the oh-so-famous ritual of resolutions. Of course, I too, like many others have a few "resolutions" for 2012 but this year, I am renaming them as GOALS. Because honestly, I tend to be more faithful to goals then to resolutions. The goals for 2012 and onwards are:

1. Be  healthier.
2. Exercise at least 3 times a week.
3. Improve outer appearance
4. Improve study skills.

I plan to post more details about each goal in the coming days. Three of the four goals are sort of interrelated and maybe number 4 will aid in the others as well.
