This recipe will made delicious and decadent sooji halwa for two people. You can easily double or quadruple the recipe ;) This particular version of this halwa is rich and delicious. You will definitely please your sweetie with this one. Hope you enjoy this.
Ingredients:
1/4 cup sooji/rava/semolina
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup milk
2 tbsp ghee
1/4 tsp powdered cardamom
1 tbsp slivered almond
1 tbsp raisins
pinch of saffron
Directions:
Heat ghee in a non stick pan over medium heat. Add semolina and fry until golden brown. Add raisins and almonds. While the semolina is frying, heat up milk, sugar and saffron in a microwavable bowl until just warm. Add warmed milk mixture to semolina and cook until mixture leaves the sides of the pan and the ghee separates. Be sure to stir continuously. Turn off heat and let halwa stand for a few minutes. You can garnish with almonds if desired. Serve warm.
